Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Champions League record in Real Madrid Win, 4 things we learnt about Success

Estimated read time 3 min read

Last night Cristiano Ronaldo set new scoring records in scoring in the champions league when Real Madrid won 8-0 against Malmo. There are four things that we can personally learn about success from Ronaldo’s feat.

1. Be in the right place at the right time

Some of Ronaldo’s goals are a good example on how to be in the right place at the right time. Opportunity will never find you if you are playing in the wrong place. If Ronaldo is to score a goal he needs to be in the right area, such that he has sight of the goal. So some people will say that they want to succeed but they are never in the path where success can find them. How does one expect to be big if they are not in the place where big things can find them? You might have the greatest idea in the world which you believe can be sold for a lot of money, but if you are not found in the market then how can success find you.

2. Be prepared, the success pass can come at any time

Some people want to be successful but have not prepared enough, and when they are in the position for success they are just not the right person at the right place at the right time. So Ronaldo can be in the right place at the right time but if he is not prepared to score then he might just miss the ball or the goal as well. I have seen people speak as if success belongs to them. So they will say that they deserve to be successful yet they are not prepared for it. An unprepared person can receive a million dollars today, but after a few months they will have spent all the money and lost it.

3. Understand the game of life

How do you succeed in the game of soccer if you don’t know the rules. You need to understand what is required for you to succeed. Study the game and you will prosper. So if you are getting into business, first understand the rules of the industry. The banking industry is not the same as basketball, so you need to understand how it works.

4. Keep trying don’t give up

Last night in the game that Ronaldo broke his various numerous records he missed two easy chances. However he did not give up he kept being in the right place and trying to find those goals. In a space of 11 minutes on either side of the half he scored his goals. He could have slumped and gave up and he would not have broken his records. The same thing is expected of us such as we will face challenges but we need to be able to keep trying so that we can score and before we know we will break our own records.
