Your mind is a is a potential for many different things that could occur or rather grow and be productive in it. Similarly a garden has potential to grow different things and produce quite a number of things that would be useful or not useful. We are going to look at the 5 ways that your mind is similar to a garden and how one has to be aware of in order to be able to make the best of it.

1. Anything can Grow

Weeds, flowers, maize, wheat or just about any plant or tree can grow in any garden. There is no real limit on what can actually grow as long as the seed is there. Maintaining the garden is another thing all together but the fact is, as long as there is fertile soil, anything can grow. The same thing applies to your mind as it can also harbor any thoughts or ideas that you allow. If you think poor that is what you will get, if you think victim that is what you will be. As they say, as a man thinketh so is he.

2. Whatever grows can produce fruit

If in your garden you decide to grow weeds they will in turn produce weeds or seeds for more weeds. If you grow an orange tree it will also produce oranges. The point is this, whatever dominates the garden will also dominate the near future and the productivity of the garden. The mind in the same way is based on what has been grown in it. Any seed that you plant in your mind will produce seeds and fruit in the likeness of the original.

3. Needs Maintenance

Anything that is grown in any garden will always require watering, and a constant weeding which is similar to any mind. If one starts a garden there will always be the chance that there will be weeds or other unwanted seeds that will grow so one needs to constantly weed them out. Your mind is a like a garden, when you are interacting with friends and family you will occasionally hear words or ideas which if you are not careful can quickly become your beliefs and affect what grows inside.

4. Requires Fertilizer

Whatever you grow in a garden will eventually need fertilizer in order to synthesize its growth. As much as the idea is a great idea it needs to be nourished with fertilizer. This means reading more, researching and comparing with other ideas. Meditation on the idea is necessary to make it stronger and more applicable to the different situations or challenges that you may face in life.

5. Every Garden needs time

No garden becomes successful in the absence of time. Time is a resource that needs to be utilized to the best ability. This means watching the different seasons that will come, the winter, the summer, the spring and the autumn. Knowing the seasons will help one to become better and know how to nurture one’s minds. There are many different seasons that affect the fruition of our ideas, and we have to be aware of them. Like any good garden, knowing when to do what is required and what is not required is essential.
